Uses: Monomethylamine, CH3NH2, or "methylamine" or "aminomethane" is used in tanning, in the manufacture of dyestuffs, in treatment of cellulose acetate rayon, and in organic synthesis.

Description: Monomethylamine is a colorless, flammable gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. It has a characteristic fishy odor in lower concentrations, but more like that of ammonia in higher concentrations (100-500 ppm). It is readily liquefied and is shipped as a liquefied gas under its own pressure of 29 psig @ 20°C.
